  I ve been in all the Italian restaurant in Cairns, and as Italian boy I totally recommend you this place. Amazing atmosphere, very nice furniture and elegant music, waiters funny and professional but the most important things is that for the first time since I'm in Australia I found a restaurant where you can eat the real Italian food, with original and house made ingredients (I recommend Ravioli alla panna). A big variety of important wines. Really close to the esplanade but much more quality of food and service if compared with VillaRomana and also cheaper. The owner is been very funny and gentleman with us since the first minute. If you want to have an unforgettable dinner in Cairns, join in Piccolo Cucina. You will not regret.

  I rang Piccolo Cucina to make a booking for my birthday, 20 people on a Saturday night. not only was it not an issue they offered and we accepted their private dining room.
  They offered and set through set menus, which with 20/20 hindsight was better value for 20people, but against my better judgement we ordered of the menu.
  Food was amazing, we had our own waiter (Camilla) for the whole evening. She was Awesome.
  We had a great evening, thanks once again Piccolo Cucina.

  I feel bad in giving only 4 stars to this place because the food, the environment and the service is 5 stars!
  Nevertheless being Italian and with the (Italian) waiters suggesting with confidence to buy the pizza because she believed it was legit, I was expecting the pizza to be comparable to the Italian one I eat many times in Sydney and in Italy. Unfortunately the pizza doesn't live to these standards. That's the only negative side though. The rest of the food is great, the staff is friendly and the environment is clean and warm. Also super central position.
